Emerging Local Plan Partial Review, Site Allocations and Development Management Policies (Regulation 18 - Stage 2) Consultation
Following the Regulation 18 (Stage 1) Consultation in 2018, we have considered the representations received and gathered additional information to inform the amount of housing, employment and retail development needed in the Borough to 2036. We are seeking views on these issues and the options for determining where future development could take place to meet identified needs. We are also seeking views on the sites that it is proposed to allocate for housing and employment in addition to those already allocated in the Local Plan Core Strategy, and the updated policies in the Development Management Policies Document.

Local Green Space
Gravesham Borough Council recognises the importance of green spaces to the health and well-being of those who live and work within the Borough by providing a range of social, environmental and economic benefits. The Council is seeking to designate Local Green Spaces by asking residents of the Borough and other stakeholders to nominate potential site for Local Green Space designation, and to comment on the criteria that will be used to assess these nominations for formal designation through the emerging Local Plan.

Draft Householder Extensions /Alterations Design Guidance SPD
Gravesham Borough Council is consulting on this draft supplementary planning document for householders in Gravesham. This guidance document builds upon a number of the adopted Local Plan Core Strategy policies (September 2014) in particular Policy CS19: Development and Design Principles. Extensions and alterations to a home can be an economical way of ensuring a home can meet a household's present and future needs. In order to meet these needs it is important they are well designed, well-built and sympathetic to their surroundings without adverse effects on the original house, immediate neighbours, the local view of the street and the character and appearance of the local area.

Conservation Areas - Windows and Doors design guidance
Gravesham Borough Council is consulting this draft supplementary planning document consultation (guidance) for owners of unlisted buildings (buildings which have not been given a Statutory Listing by Historic England) in Conservation Areas. This guidance document builds upon and provides more detailed information on Policies CS19: Development and Design Principles and CS20: Heritage and the Historic Environment of the adopted Gravesham Local Plan Core Strategy (September 2014). In line with the Council’s adopted Statement of Community Involvement (October 2019) the Council will be undertaking a 6 week period of formal public consultation from Friday 31 January 2020 until 17:00 on Friday 13 March 2020. Representations received after this deadline will not be taken into consideration.

Gravesham Local Validation List
The Council is consulting for a period of 6 weeks, on the form and content of our Local Validation List (Local List) of Validation Requirements for Planning Applications. The purpose of the Local List is to enable the Local Planning Authority to define what information is necessary to ensure that the application adequately describes the impact of the proposed development, in order to better enable decision makers and interested persons to understand the implications of that development, and whether it is in accordance with, or contrary to planning policy and other material considerations.

Part 1 Site Allocations: Issues and Options document - Call for additional sites
The council is inviting land owners and developers to submit sites with development potential as part of this SLAA 'call for sites' exercise. Sites that can be submitted include those with development potential for residential, employment, tourism, leisure and other uses.

Part 1 Site Allocations: Issues and Options - Regulation 18 Consultation
The Council has prepared a Regulation 18 Site Allocations: Issues and Options document for consultation. In light of revised future growth requirements (estimates of need) this document looks at options for how and where this future growth may be accommodated in the Borough. The options identified are in addition to sites allocated for the development of homes and jobs in the Gravesham Local Plan Core Strategy and in addition to sites with planning permission for development granted by the Council.

Part 2: Development Management Policies Document - Regulation 18 Consultation
The Council has prepared a Regulation 18 Development Management Policies document for consultation, the document contains policies on various issues such as protection of agricultural land, retail frontages, neighbourhood and village centres, green infrastructure, residential space standards, light pollution, noise, design, heritage assets, etc. The main purpose of the document is to provide detailed policies to help determine day to day planning applications. This document will facilitate the delivery of the Gravesham Local Plan Core Strategy (2014) and provide further policy detail which is needed beyond that contained in the Core Strategy and national policy i.e. the National Planning Policy Framework.

Local Plan Review - Updating Gravesham's Priorities for the next decade
We're asking for your views on future development. A comprehensive public consultation gets under way on Wednesday 25 April, and lasts until 5.00 pm on Wednesday 11 July 2018. This gives everyone the chance to offer their views on the Local Plan which includes the amount of additional development needed, where it should be located, and how development should be managed going forward.
