Local Green Space

Local Green Space is a planning designation introduced by Government in the National Planning Policy Framework. The designation is a way to provide additional protection to green spaces (sites) which demonstrate particular importance to local communities in line with the criteria for Local Green Space.

What are we consulting on?

The Council is inviting representations on:

  • View and provide comments on the draft local criteria for the designation of Local Green Space
  • Nominate a site to be considered by the council for the Local Green Space designation 

The Local Green Space consultation will run for four weeks from Tuesday 1 September until Tuesday 29 September 2020 at 5 pm.

In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 the documents will not be available for inspection at Gravesham Gateway, Gravesham Borough Council offices, Civic Centre, Windmill Street, DA12 1AU. You may be able to book a PC to view the documents at a library, for further information please see www.kent.gov.uk/libs
