Part 2: Development Management Policies Document - Regulation 18 Consultation

The Council has prepared a Regulation 18 Development Management Policies document for consultation, the document contains policies on various issues such as protection of agricultural land, retail frontages, neighbourhood and village centres, green infrastructure,  residential space standards, light pollution, noise, design, heritage assets, etc. The main purpose of the document is to provide detailed policies to help determine day to day planning applications. This document will facilitate the delivery of the Gravesham Local Plan Core Strategy (2014) and provide further policy detail which is needed beyond that contained in the Core Strategy and national policy i.e. the National Planning Policy Framework.

    This document, entitled Part 2: Development Management Policies, is the subject of consultation under Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. It includes detailed policies for managing the impact of new development upon the built and natural environment, as well as utility, social and transport infrastructure.
  • Town Centre Retail Frontages and Neighbourhood and Village Centres Retail Centres Background Paper
    The purpose of this technical paper is to consider the status of retail frontages within the Gravesend town centre primary shopping area (PSA) and elsewhere within the town centre, whilst setting out the approach that will be taken toward neighbourhood and village centres that sit below Gravesend Town Centre. Lone village shops that are afforded protection under existing local plan policy are also identified.
